New International Encounter Theatre (NIE) leads this exciting project to bring to life untold stories of important heritage sites through the arts.
Built in 1988 and redundant in 1989, the ‘Magic Mountain’, the avionic building at Alconbury Weald nuclear bunker presents a story of change and transformation at the height of the Cold War in the 1980s.
'Top Secret at Alconbury' is a
promenade performance piece
created by 40 local young people
(13-18yrs) for their local
community through animation,
sound, film and live performance
shown on the 29th July 2016.
Top Secret is made in partnership with NNF Bridge, Huntingdon Area Partnership, Ramsey Neighbourhood Trust, Huntington Regional College, Urban & Civic & Cambridgeshire County Council. NIE have been commissioned to deliver a Theatre Arts and employability project with young people from the Huntingdon Area.
The young participants worked closely with our team of international arts professionals to get an understanding of the Creative Industries and an opportunity to learn new skills.
